The World Of Computers

It is truly difficult to imagine the world without computers. Everything runs online. Everything requires a system and connectivity. People who are not very comfortable with smartphones resort to using a computer for almost every activity that can be conducted online. Whether it is shopping or studying, playing, being informed or even being social; a computer seems to be the popular source for it all. In a convoluted way, a computer has given way not just to social media like Facebook and Instagram, it has paved it for applications like Instagram boosters as well.

What would the world be like without computers?

This is, of course, a hypothetical question. In the world of technology, a computer is one of the primary equipment used. The context and purpose may vary but it has become an essential part of the lives of most people who live on the fast track and want everything done with just the click of the mouse.

As surprising as it might sound, there are a few advantages to a world without a computer.

  • Time used effectively

While time is saved with a computer, it does take time away from the real people. Once hooked on the machine, the near and dear ones are blatantly ignored. There is no question of socializing in the real three-dimensional world. This is because the two-dimensional activities seem more alluring. A lot of people have lost their personal life because they are busy staring at the screen behaving like couch potatoes.

There is more time made for gatherings with friends and family. It is considered to be healthier to step out into the real world, get some fresh air and meet people than to sit at home working on the system. It has been doctor recommended too.

  • Real and virtual world

The concept of which is real and which is virtual is clearly understood only in the absence of a computer. As everything is obtained on the box, the necessity of being alive in the real world has almost become optional.

  • Loss of Real life

Dreams become real only by living in the real world and not fantasizing about it on the computer. Life has to be built outside of the box.

  • Loss of health

People enter into a shell by living inside the computer. This leads to loss of life, laughter and eventually health. Sitting in one place and staring at a bright screen cannot do much good in the long run. The health takes a hit because the human body is not built to sit in one place all day. Lack of exercise, obesity and build up of stress and tension are some of the side effects of being a couch potato. It is not limited to just watching television.

  • Recluse

There have been reports that claim that introverts are more into the system than people. That is not a healthy sign either. It has been proven on many counts that people should switch off the system and explore various opportunities that the real life has to offer than to be a recluse and stick what the computer has to give.

People who are used to having a computer in their midst suffer intense pain in its absence. The fact that people become dependent on technology has its pros and cons. Outside of the computer; people are unable to keep in touch with each other. A simple hello and a courteous wish seem to be sufficient for many people. The whole personal touch and the ability to hold a lengthy conversation is lost. There is n longer the need to pick up the phone and interact. People seem satisfied talking to each other over the many social media platforms available on the internet.

If the computer was suddenly taken away for some reason, there are people who do seem lost. They do not seem to know what to do with all that time that has suddenly been gifted to them. Life has pretty much come to a standstill without a computer. It is a sad but true state of affairs.

While the advantages of having a computer are many, the fact that there seems to be very little life outside of it is quite a dangerous situation to be in. This calls for a drastic step that includes trying to detoxify. There should be plans made that do not involve the computer. Strict rules about not switching on the system during the weekend, for example, is a good way to study and analyze how much one is addicted to the computer.
